As a liquid, SAP LOK offers a wide range of applications that are difficult or impossible to apply as a powder. SAP LOK may be injected underground to essentially “plug” contaminated or leachate leaking voids.

CASE STUDY

Dewatered filter cake can be difficult to handle via augers, beltlines and dump truck beds. Compounding the issue, blending dewatered filter cake with wet coarse material adds another level of difficulty. Wet material clogs belt conveyors and transfer chutes.

Basically, re-wetting dewatered filter cake is bad.

Additionally, freeze control (calcium chloride) can cause incline belt conveyors to become slippery causing material to slide and backup.

SAP LOK is a patented product designed to eliminate all of the problems above. At a dosage of less than 1/2# per ton treated solids, SAP LOK eliminates free liquid to dramatically improve solids handling. These pictures compare SAP LOK treated coal filter cake thats been combined with wet coarse material. Notice the lack of reflective/free water on the treated. The treated becomes more free flowing allowing for faster drying than the untreated.

In addition to mining applications, there are a number of dewatering opportunities for SAP LOK with paper mill & municipal POTW sludge for enhanced spreading/drying.
